Summary:This is meant to be one short piece of flash fiction comprised of 7 short flash pieces that stand on their own as individual stories. It's an experiment I decided to try and I'm very interested to know if you think that it's effective. What would you change in terms of how these stories are presented, the order they are presented, and the 7 themes that create the story. Also, do you feel that each flash piece presents a stand-on-its-own story while also playing into the larger story well? Any feedback is welcome. Thanks.Chapters: |

Summary:Someone stole a grain bin from a cantankerous farmer in rural Alberta, and Valerie Stevens is on the case. Finding it should be an easy task for the police, too bad the thief has been dead for nearly one hundred years.
She's a senior civil servant for Government Services and Infrastructure Canada, though her name won't be found on any government ledger. The Prime Minister will deny any knowledge of her existence, even though he's in the habit of calling her apartment on a hot line to get the scores of last night's hockey game from her boyfriend.
She's been accused of sorcery, and she prefers to be known as an alchemist. Her connection to the unseen world is the ghost of a long-dead Canadian Prime Minister, and that grain bin? Well, it just fell out of a hole in reality, crash landing on a busy Calgary intersection at rush-hour.
What's a grain bin got to do with an undead presence . The only ones with answers are a group of corrupt cops who moonlight as vampires, an ogre names Dennis, and of course, a werewolf with a low self-esteem. It's all in a day's work for Valerie Stevens as she tries to save city from a baneful and simmering evil that's about to be unleashedChapters: |

Summary:A reporter, recently relocated from New York to Wilmington, North Carolina, and researching the fact that Willie Mosconi once played pool in a local bar, comes across a ghost story about three patrons who died in a fire at the Hotel Orton in 1949 and reportedly still haunt the bar (now called Orton's) that was in its basement. He discovers, though, that newspaper reports on the fire show no indication of any deaths in the fire and wonders about the validity of the ghost story.
Shooting pool at Orton's one night, the reporter is physically approached by the Ghost of the Hotel Orton, who proceeds to tell him the story of what really happened that night, asking the reporter to more or less set the record straight.Chapters: |
