I'm reading a Stephen White novel and a character makes the statement "time will tell." I thought it was simple, but profound. I was trying to take a nap, and the poem came to me quickly, so I jotted it down on a bill envelope on the nightstand. It's based on a cliche, of course, but cliches are often based on truth. Let me know if you can get past the cliches and appreciate it, and find truth in it, too.

I couldn't sleep; it's almost 2 am. This poem is the birth of an unquiet mind. Feel free to analyze, criticize, dissect, or whatever. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. I experimented with capitalization, some rhyme (maybe technically half rhyme, which I don't particularly like), and a little unintended alliteration. This was rather spontaneous, so it lacks polish. I love to push the boundaries of writing to its limits, and I think that is what I have done with the writing of my first Chaiku. I think I may have gotten a little KU KU this time and pushed myself to the very edge, but it was fun getting here. This is a four line poem with each line consisting of four syllables...it's just that the four syllables are contained in one word...that begins with the letter "I"...don't ask. I guess I could say this is my KU KU I KU CHAIKU!
