 | Clouds Like White Geese | Charles1011 | Short Story | 5 | 0.99 | Jun 29, 2008 |
Summary:An exercise ... after reading Hemingway's "Hills Like White Elephants," try to do something similar where the main issue is not mentioned, but clearly there is something more going on.
Feedback NOT wanted: Don't tell me that I'm no Hemingway. I already know that.
Feedback wanted: Is it too obscure? My unspoken issue is not abortion (like the Hemingway story), but do you get a sense of what is really troubling the father?Chapters: |

 | The Judas Kiss | tjthomas | Short Story | 5 | 0.73 | Jun 20, 2008 |
Summary:Done as a writing exercise. Three pages on "someone giving something to someone else." I still feel that what I produce does not match what I had in mind when I started and so I'm not "hitting the nail on the head." That could be good or bad. So, just wondering how well this piece works.Chapters: |

 | Caprice | Sherman_Bierce | Novel | 4 | n/a | Jun 14, 2008 |
Summary:Danny Marx is abruptly torn from his unpromising life as an average office grunt, by a woman he's had a crush on for weeks before actually meeting her. Now facing a series of unexpected and confusing threats, he finds that the more he learns about Caprice, the less sense she makes to him. This book is a bit of an experiment for me on several levels, not the least of which is to find out whether I am capable of writing a short novel. NOTE TO POTENTIAL REVIEWERS: As with any novel, the point of entry should be chapter one. With Caprice in particular, if you jump in anywhere else, you will almost certainly miss the entire point of the story. That danger will increase exponentially as I add more chapters. The kind of feedback I need more than anything else is about plot and character development, so latecomer reviews, while well-intentioned, won't be of value. Please start from the beginning.Chapters: |
 | Beneath the Blue (Armageddon Lost IV) | IveyBanks | Novel | 0 | n/a | Jun 10, 2008 |
Summary:Sequel to 'Into the Light'.
The boys are back and, let me tell you, they gave me a hell of a time writing this one. I have never dealt with two more ornery, hard-to-manage characters.
If you were thoroughly disgusted by 'Into the Light', you will be utterly horrified by 'Beneath the Blue'.
The We-Hate-Meghan Fan Club is going to have a field day with this one.Chapters: |

 | The Erotic Sell Out | pat4novels | Short Story | 11 | 0.36 | Jun 5, 2008 |
Summary:Disappointment caused me to write this. Please don't stop writing a great story just because only one or two people review it. Don't 'sell out' for more reviewers. If only one or two people continue to read faithfully, that means they enjoy the story, and they want to know how it will end.Chapters: |
 | WOMEN WHO CHANGED THE WORLD FOREVER | Justi Moody | Short Story | 5 | 0.31 | Jun 4, 2008 |
Summary:Men usually don't touch on these with few exceptions. I am going to cover ten or so women who through their efforts and likely no knowledge of their own changed the world. Chapters: |
 | Gemini | J.L. Denney | Novel | 2 | n/a | Jun 3, 2008 |
Summary:The journey starts with a single step. [Author's note: Yes, I'm intending everything to be vague, it'll be explained later. Also, the chapters are purposefully short, I'm experimenting with parallel construction.] WARNING: I don't care if you jump in the middle and review a random Chapter. However, if said review contains any comments like "I don't know what's going on," or some such nonsense, you'll receive a curt response and a 1 rating. Thank you.Chapters: |

 | GLAZED | TirzahLaughs | Short Story | 9 | 1.14 | May 22, 2008 |
Summary:This story is about a man that is so caught up in his life that he never sees what goes around him. I would love to make this a stronger story. It seems a bit dorky to me, I'd like to make it stronger.Chapters: |
 | Shattered | Tracy | Novel | 4 | n/a | May 21, 2008 |
Summary:Hi there and thanks for reading my story. This is my first post so...deep breathe, here I go.
I started this a couple of years ago and recently have resurrected it. It starts in a regression and I am not sure that is working out. It may be a bit confusing. But you will read for yourself. It is a story of a young couple facing a loss and how they handled it. It is incomplete and was started as a short story but is turning in to a novel. This is chapter 1. I welcome all well intentioned advice. Thanks!Chapters: |

Summary:In Boston the new museum of contemporary art displays avante garde exhibits, some of them rather baffling. I visited recently with ten friends from Western Mass. Boats sail outside the big glass wall and the airport can be seen across the water. That's Logan, where terrorists once boarded planes to wreck some lives and landmarks. Chapters: |
 | Songs To Avoid On American Idol | amarie | Poetry | 11 | 0.65 | May 17, 2008 |
Summary:~~My spin on song titles contestants should avoid. Some songs are so owned now they should never grace the stage again, some have been butchered so badly, having to agonize through other renditions would cause a spike in nationwide deaths, and some songs are just not...um...Idol material.~~Chapters: |
