NORA'S FAREWELL / Impetuous Heart (new title)

Written by: brosna11

Nora, a young girl in rural Ireland, lives through the Irish Rising, World War I and the influenza epidemic before she reaches adulthood. Her large family and her village are important to her but her goal is to see Ireland free of British rule. I am using the Kerry idiom here, as well as I can recall it, so don't expect this to sound like people from Dublin or Belfast. This is closer to Queen Elizabeth I and Shakespeare, which is the way Kerry people talk. This story began as "Kilkenny Curse" but after some revision, became "Nora's Farewell". As of July 10, 2008, it's "Impetuous Heart". So many reviewers have helped me edit this that I owe a great debt to all of you. I am now working on the final revision and will post each chapter as it's ready. This novel is based partly on family history and partly on historical opinion as found in a variety of sources. There is quite a bit of folklore here as well. President Kennedy's assassination is predicted by a prophetic spirit in a cave in Kilkenny. (A bit of folklore I invented but some of the Fitzgerald lore already exists.) Brosna11
